Unite to protect marine life and reduce ocean pollution

This resolution was designed to alleviate the immense pressures on our ocean's fisheries. The resolution lowers CO2 footprints, supports local farmers & ranchers, and it is ocean friendly.

Industrial fishing has severely depleted many fish populations. Destructive practices like trawling harm the seafloor and vital habitats, while shark finning disrupts the food chain and trash kills wildlife. Recognizing these issues, this paper proposes a politically viable, realistic solution to aid in ocean recovery and enforce law on the High Seas. We suggest a five-year moratorium on industrial fishing in international waters to help replenish fish stocks, protect marine species, and restore seafloor habitats. Emphasizing the importance of international cooperation, this initiative aims to conserve biodiversity in areas beyond national jurisdiction (ABNJ), mitigate potential political and social unrest, and prevent the dire consequences of collapsing global fisheries. This approach is crucial as the oceans, which cover over 70% of the planet, play a key role in climate regulation and support vast marine biodiversity. 

We want all of you to become educated on ocean conservation issues and do something simple to help solve a large problem. When you are on the beach enjoying the sun and water, you cannot see the damage taking place under the waves. We are asking all of you to help solve one major problem and get some exercise at the same time.
