PRESS RELEASE: EXERCISE FOR OUR EARTH MOTHER

April 19, 2021

Dear Ocean Wildlife Lovers:

EXERCISE FOR OUR EARTH MOTHER

Hi, we want all of you to become educated on ocean conservation issues and do something simple to help solve a large problem. When you are on the beach enjoying the sun and water, you cannot see the damage taking place under the waves. We are asking all of you to help solve one major problem and get some exercise at the same time.

Unless we immediately change our fishing and consumption practices, by 2050 the majority of global fisheries will collapse. Most of you are not aware of the following grim facts:

  • Half of the wildlife in the oceans is gone.
  • At least 90 percent of the large predator fish have been killed off.
  • Humans are killing over 200,000 sharks each day for shark fin soup.
  • We are losing the coral reefs to bleaching and destructive fishing practices.
  • We keep dumping garbage into the oceans.
  • There is the continuing damage of climate change with acidification and

               warming of the oceans.

Working together we can solve these problems. Earth Day 2021is Thursday, April 22nd. We are asking all of you to take some time this week to celebrate Earth Day by exercising for our great Earth Mother. Please get some work gloves and garbage bags and go visit the nearest river or beach with any family or friends that can join you. As you are walking for exercise, please pick up any trash you might see. If you are working or in school on Earth Day, then please do this on Saturday, April 24th. Only by stopping the garbage from entering the oceans, will we solve the major problems. This has to be done all over our small planet.

Organizations all over the world are working on cleaning up the rivers so garbage does not enter the oceans. We hope you consider helping this week by getting some exercise and cleaning up trash, so it does not kill the ocean’s wildlife. We will do our part in Congress by fundraising to help poor nations clean up rivers and beaches all over the world. Let’s all get some great exercise by cleaning up the planet for our amazing Earth Mother.

Mahalo,
